Livingstone Surfaces Treatments Ltd is delighted to be accredited ICATS external training provider for the North West of England. Established in 1975, we have a wealth of experience in corrosion control and we offer competitive, flexible solutions to your training requirements.

We are happy to discuss either 5 day courses or 1 day per week courses for 5 weeks to enable minimum disruption to your labour requirements. We have numerous courses planned throughout the year, but please call us if you have specific requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Why was ICATS developed?

Over the past 20 years, advances in industrial paint and the associated preparation standards make the application of systems today a skilled operation. Using unskilled and unqualified operatives drastically increases the risk of a costly coating failure. The industry has never had a structured training scheme for industrial coating operatives to eliminate this risk. Having identified the skills shortage, the institute of Corrosion under its commercial arm Correx Ltd, and in conjunction with major structure owners and industry experts, set up a task group to solve the problem. They key focus of the scheme is on safe working practices, surface preparation and application techniques working to industry standards. Today ICATS is delivering the skills required to industry through the ICATS Basic Module and its member companies. The scheme is mandated by Sellafield, The Highway Agency, Network Rail, MOD and many of the oil companies, and is the minimum requirement for any operative to carry out industrial coating application at any of their sites. There is now no reason why you should risk using unqualified operatives to prepare and paint valuable structures using today's high performance systems.
